Dr. Chari's clinical focus centers on the care of patients with benign and malignant disorders of the liver, bile ducts and pancreas. His particular interest is in liver cancer, bile duct cancer and gallbladder cancer. He has extensive experience in treatment of liver cancer (hepatocellular, metastatic colorectal, metastatic breast, and other tumors which have spread to or involve the liver), bile duct cancer and bile duct strictures.He has expertise in liver resection, cryosurgery, radio frequency ablation and hepatic arterial pump placement. He is particularly well known for his use of laparoscopic techniques in liver, bile duct and pancreatic cancer. Dr. Chari also evaluates patients in need of liver transplantation, including portal shunts, TIPS procedure and management of hepatocellular cancer in advanced cirrhotics.He is certified by both the American Board of Surgery and Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.
