SPECIAL DEBATE 1
Management of Pancreatic Cystic Neoplasms

Moderator: Mark Callery Radiology: Larry Schwartz
Debate: Murray Brennan vs. Keith Lillemoe

Debate: Murray Brennan vs. Keith Lillemoe
‘The risk of cancer is low for small lesions - close imaging follow-up and selective resection is the best approach Murray Brennan

‘The cancer risk is high for all lesions - an aggressive policy of resection is therefore warranted’ Keith Lillemoe

Rebuttal/Discussion
The management of pancreatic cystic neoplasms continues to evolve, and
areas of controversy remain. This session will feature a presentation of the
relevant imaging characteristics of these lesions, followed by a debate of
management approaches for this difficult clinical problem.

DVD 10A U$ … 50.00

SPECIAL DEBATE 2
Benign Liver Tumors: Changing Management Paradigm?
Moderator: Nicolas Vauthey Radiology: Vamsidha Narra
Debate: David Geller vs. Yuman Fong

‘Close imaging follow-up is the best strategy in most patients with suspected benign tumors’ Yuman Fong

‘Laparoscopic resection should be used more liberally in the management of suspected benign tumors?’ David Geller

Rebuttal/Discussion
Benign liver tumors are common and most require no intervention. However, diagnostic uncertainty remains a major source of anxiety for both patient and surgeon. In this regard, differentiating between hepatic adenoma and FNH and is a frequent and particularly difficult problem. This debate will be centered around the following question: Should hepatic resection be used more often in the diagnostic algorithm of patients with suspected benign liver tumors, particularly as minimally invasive hepatic resection techniques improve?
